The first Madame Tussauds museum was opened in London and exhibited the artist’s works. The woman was a master in the art of wax modelling, and during her life in Paris she devoted herself to making wax figures of the faces of men, aristocrats and others, who were victims of the French Revolution.Īt the time of her death, her collection numbered around 400 wax works. The idea behind the wax museum was taken from the work of the French artist Marie Tussaud, after whom the museum is named, during the 18th and 19th centuries.

You can actually start the day by a quick stop at the Wax World and then move on to the farther places like Pykara Lake or Mukurthi National Park and so on.
One of those 'must see' places in Ooty town, the place is thoroughly enjoyable and also informative for the kids, besides the place being very easily accessible.
